Am I Ready for Radiesse injections?

Adults who are in good overall health and concerned about mild to moderate wrinkles and lines are the ideal patients for RADIESSE treatments. It can smooth marionette lines, smile lines, pre-jowl folds, chin wrinkles, and lines that form in the corners of the mouth. RADIESSE is also approved to treat age-related volume loss in the hands to hide veins and other imperfections in the skin. You shouldn't have this injection if you are allergic to lidocaine or other ingredients in RADIESSE. Be sure to talk to our aesthetics team about any allergies (severe or not) and if you have a history of any bleeding disorders. If you are breastfeeding, pregnant, might be pregnant, or are considering pregnancy in the next several years, you should not use RADIESSE injections.

Our Radiesse Injection Technique

RADIESSE injections are performed in one of the treatment rooms at Lincoln Park Aesthetics in around 30 – 60 minutes once you have completed the consultation. To begin the treatment, you will sit comfortably while the areas of injection will be cleaned and marked. Most patients feel mild discomfort when the needle is first inserted. If preferred, a numbing cream can be spread on the treatment sites. The RADIESSE dose, chosen during your consultation, will be prepared for your specified injections. The pre-marked site of injection will guide the injector to carefully administer RADIESSE into the skin. As soon as we are finished injecting the RADIESSE, a cold compress can be held to the treated areas to alleviate some of the bruising and swelling.

What to Expect

After your RADIESSE injection, you may see mild redness, swelling, and bruising. This is common and should only last for about 5 – 10 days. These side effects can usually be camouflaged with cosmetics. If the side effects last longer than ten days or if you are concerned, please contact Lincoln Park Aesthetics. Most patients see visible results immediately with better results appearing in a month or so. Your face should look softer, younger, and have a natural glow. RADIESSE tends to last longer compared to other dermal fillers — around 1 – 2 years. You should ask about when to schedule your next injection to touch up your results.
